1. Are you really related to each other? Yes, and we get along really well.
2. How long should my hair be before my wax appointment? For optimum results, hair should be ¼ inch or longer. Basically, don’t shave for 12-14 days. Also, it’s best to let us trim if it’s too long.
3. Will it hurt? We like to think our numbing spray, expert technique and sparkling personalities will distract from the discomfort----but perhaps, pop a couple of motrin 30 minutes before your appointment. It’s probably not as bad as the anticipation.
4. What can I do to prepare for my appointment? Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! 2-3 days before your appointment, take extra time to exfoliate with a chemical or manual scrub; you can also use a rough washcloth or buffer.
Exfoliation = a smoother, cleaner, longer-lasting wax.
5. What kind of wax do you use at Sisters3? We use organic, soft honey wax. We have tried everything on the market and believe our wax to be the most efficient and gentle.
6. Can I catch a disease from waxing? At Sisters3, we take every precaution to prevent possible exposure to both bacteria and cross-contamination. Since waxing is all we do and our volume of customers is so high, we fly through multiple wax pots daily—bacteria doesn’t have a chance to matriculate in our pots. We also maintain meticulous treatment rooms.
7. Will I be really red after my facial waxing? We use a specially formulated facial wax that is best for sensitive skin and also keep our wax at a much lower temperature than our competitors. Most of our clientele are surprised and delighted by the minimal discomfort and after-effects.
8. How do you choose your merchandise? Our Buyer Extraordinaire is also our Sister Extraordinaire—Abby! She takes a lot of pride in her lingerie selections and tries to keep her selections unique, pre-trend and designed in the US. If you have a hot tip or favorite designer, drop her a line at Abby@shopsisters3.com
9. Why so much bridal? Bridal is our biggest money-maker…While we strive to find unusual, well made lingerie and gifts that appeal to the general population, someone is always getting married. And we think that’s a good thing!
10. Who do you like for hair in the area? Arlie thinks Bach at Paul Bosserman’s Salon in Georgetown is a brilliant genius, Abby prefers cuts by Ashley at Eclips in McLean. Alex loves Jacqui Davis at PR@Partners. Thanks for asking!
